Online Operating Theatre Course
This course is aimed at newly qualified or recently appointed
staff new to the operating theatre/perioperative environment.Its purpose is to support these staff in gaining the appropriate skills to enable them to function effectively in the perioperative
environment.
This course would not be appropriate for
registered Operating Department Practitioners.
This online theatre course is classed as a part-time study programme. It will
consist of 90 on-line taught study hours (15 study days equivalent), and be
undertaken across the equivalent of an academic year. There are four start
dates per annum.
Students will undertake this course whilst employed within an operating
department. Clinical practice will be facilitated by an appointed and
appropriately trained mentor within the students’ workplace, and will be
undertaken as part of their employed work activities.

The total cost of the on-line
theatre course is £880.00 per
student.
Academic Credit:
Successful completion of the
online theatre course will be
awarded 60 level III credits (also
known as level 6)
