WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION SAFETY CHECKLIST
On the 26th of January 2009 the National Patient Safety Agency published an alert requiring healthcare organisations in England and Wales to implement the World Health Organisation Surgical Safety Checklist (adapted for England and Wales) for every patient undergoing a surgical procedure.
The alert is part of the World Health Organisation’s Second Global Patient Safety Challenge, ‘Safe Surgery Saves Lives’.
